A larger SUV than Yeti with the Skoda badge on it will hit the market in two years and it was named Bigfoot by the Dutch media.
According to Auto Internationaal the new SUV which will enter Skoda’s line-up will be built on VW Tiguan’s platform and it will have three rows of seats thanks to a larger wheelbase.
The new Czech SUV will enter the market as a direct competitor to the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento, attracting customers of the Mitsubishi Outlander, Peugeot 4007, Citroen C-Crosser or even the Volvo XC60.
The Skoda “Bigfoot” will be easy to make and it will be cheaper than its competitors considering VW’s experience in the SUV segment.
The engine range of the new Skoda SUV will continue the Volkswagen tradition and the most powerful diesel unit will be the 2.0 liter TDI, which will deliver 177 horsepower, while petrol fans will get the 2.0 liter TFSi which will develop more than 200 HP.
The new seven-people carrier will also get VW’s AWD technology and the DSG gearbox but no official details have been announced yet.
