The Skoda Fabia R5 Concept has been officially unveiled, ahead of its public debut which will take place this weekend, during the 2014 Essen Motor Show.
After being teased a couple of times with the help of photos and videos, the brand new Skoda Fabia R5 has been officially unveiled by the Czech based automaker. The model in question is, of course, a racer, which will be acting as a replacement for the old S2000, and it is based on the third generation of the Fabia supermini. The racing car is coming with the typical motorsport enhancements which includes the aerodynamic body style, the rear wing, the roof scoop and so on.
The brand new Skoda Fabia R5 has also received a stiffer suspension setup, larger brakes, small side mirrors, Michelin tires and a centrally positioned exhaust system. Power to the model will be provided by a 1.6 liter turbocharged gasoline burner with four cylinders, in order to comply with the FIA regulations. This will be connected to a 5-speed sequential transmission. The interior design of the car has been stripped down. More details on the racer are limited at this time and will probably be announced in Essen.
