The Czech based automaker Skoda has released the first official images with the brand new R5 rally car, which will replace the popular S200.
The Skoda Fabia S2000 may have been pretty successful but its racing days are going to end pretty soon as the car manufacturer’s motorsport division has almost perfected a successor for this model. The new race car is going to be named the Skoda Fabia R5 and, just as you might have expected, it will be based on the road-going version of the supermini which is in its new generation, being officially presented to the public during the 2014th edition of the Paris Motor Show.
If you came here hoping to get a new background image for your computer / laptop / tablet / smartphone, you will be disappointed because the only photos released with the new Fabia R5 by Skoda are showing a camouflaged prototype. This is acceptable in this situation considering the fact that work on the racer is still carried on and this will be unveiled sometimes next year, when it will also be available in competitions. The photos posted below are revealing a wider body, a ventilated hood, a centrally positioned exhaust pipe, a rear wing, a roof scoop, flared wheel arches and more.
