Skoda has recently announced its plans to introduce the new G-TEC to the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, which will be officially opening its gates for the media on the 4th of March.
Skoda’s newest creation is named the Octavia G-TEC and this is basically a new version of the Octavia which can run on CNG (compressed natural gas). The model in question has some impressive “figures” which will most likely play a main role into attracting more customers to the brand, but until this will happen, the company will have to officially pull the wraps off its body, during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, in a world premiere.
The brand new Skoda Octavia G-TEC is taking its power from a 1.4 liter TSI turbocharged Euro 6 compliant four-cylinder engine. The total output produced by this unit stands at 110 HP (81 kW), which are being sent to the front wheels. Thanks to this, and to other systems like the stop/start or the regenerative braking, the Octavia G-TEC can travel for up to 410 km (254 miles) and have CO2 emissions below 97 g/km. If the gasoline is the fuel of choice, the range will stand at 920 km (571 miles) and with both fuels, the total range will increase up to 1,330 km (826 miles).
