Skoda is planning to introduce a more powerful version of the new Octavia RS, which will celebrate 40 years since the 130 RS was introduced.
The Czech based automaker Skoda will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 130 RS with a new and more powerful version of the Octavia RS. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet, but sources within the company are speaking about a limited edition of the Octavia RS, which might come with an impressive 280 HP. This figure will become available with the usage of the 2.0 liter supercharged engine, currently found in the Golf R. The unit will be toned down because on the hot hatch it’s rated at 300 HP.
The upcoming Skoda Octavia RS special edition will keep its front-wheel drive, despite the extra power, and it won’t adopt an all-wheel drive system. However, the carmaker will be adding a more rigid suspension system to the model in question which will most likely ride on new 19-inch alloy wheels. The vehicle will be produced in a limited number and its starting price will be higher than the one of the current Octavia RS. More details on the model are limited for the moment.
