The Czech based automaker Skoda is planning to unveil the Rapid model at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March.
After the concept car, named the MissionL, has been officially presented to the public at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the production version of the model, the Skoda Rapid, is now getting ready to take on the European market, and the 2012 Geneva Motor Show has been chosen by the automaker for debuting the car. Even if there is no official word on this yet, the guys from Auto Motor und Sport are saying that the Skoda Rapid sedan will be presented at Geneva, and after the event, the model will be launched in Germany at a starting price of 13,000 euros.
In a crisis stuck Europe, this model might be just what Volkswagen is looking for and rumors say that the Skoda Rapid aimed towards Germany will come, in the entry-level version, with a 1.2 liter TSI engine, generating about 85 horsepower. The Skoda Rapid has already been launched in India, where the sedan has a starting price of 6,75 lakhs and the model has a lot to share with other VW vehicles. Skoda wants to sell more than 2,000 Rapid models monthly in India. More details on the model will be announced during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
