Skoda has announced a new milestone involving the Rapid this time as the model has been sold in no less than 500, 000 units at this point.
The Skoda Rapid has quickly become a best-seller in Europe, China and India and, even if it is more expensive than the regular Dacia Logan, its more premium features have assured its success. According to the Czech based automaker, no less than 500,000 units of the car have been sold so far, making it the company’s best-seller currently.
The Skoda Rapid has been introduced in India back in 2011 and it was followed by its European version, one year later. The vehicle is currently produced in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic, in Kaluga, Russia, and in Yizheng, China. It is being offered in two body styles and it stands at 4,483 mm long, 1,706 mm wide and 1,161 mm tall, in the 5-door liftback version. The wheelbase is 2,602 mm long. The engine lineup includes the 1.2 liter MP! With its 74 HP & 112 Nm of torque, the 1.2 liter TSI with 85 HP & 160 Nm of torque, the 1.2 TSI with 103 HP & 175 Nm of torque and the 1.4 liter TSI with 121 HP & 200 Nm of torque. The diesel lineup includes a 1.6 liter TDI in three versions, 89 HP & 180 Nm, 89 HP & 230 Nm and 103 HP & 250 Nm.
