Skoda has officially released the first images and details with the 2013 Rapid model in Europe, ahead of its debut in September at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
After starting its life as a concept car, under the MissionL name almost a year ago during the Frankfurt Motor Show and entering production after that in India, where it’s available for its customers for quite some time, the Skoda Rapid is finally getting ready for Europeans too so the Czech based automaker has released the first official images and details with the model. The Skoda Rapid will be slotted between the Fabia and the Octavia models and it will hit the market as a five-seater, with 4.48 meters in length and 1.7 meters in width.
The Skoda Rapid will be offered on the Old Continent with a choice of seven engines, at first, five petrol and two diesels. Rumors are saying that the Skoda Rapid will get the 1.2 liter TSI engine from VW, in two outputs, 85 HP and 105 HP, along with the 1.4 TSI producing 122 HP, the 1.6 TSI developing 105 HP and the 2.0 TDI with 140 HP. The Skoda Rapid will be targeting families looking for a roomy first car for an affordable price and the model will finally go on sale in Europe at the end of this year.
