Skoda Rapid to start at under 13,000 euros in Europe image

The all-new Skoda Rapid, the sedan which will sit between the Fabia and the Octavia, will have a starting price of just under 13,000 euros on the Old Continent.

Even if there is no official word on this subject from the Czech based automaker just yet, which is struggling to keep the Skoda Rapid into the shadows for the moment, the guys at autobild.de are saying that the new model will be priced at 12,900 euros once it will hit the market. The Skoda Rapid will be made on the same platform as the Fabia, but it will be able to accommodate up to five people in its 4,39 meters long.

The interior of the Skoda Rapid will be kept simple and functional with the “help” of “good old” plastic and under its hood, the model is expected to get a new 1.2 liter TSI engine from the VW Group, which will come in two outputs, with 85 HP and 105 HP, along with a larger 1.4 liter TSI unit, which will pack 122 HP. The lineup will be completed by the 1.6 TSI with its 105 HP and by the 2.0 TDI with 140 HP. More details on the Skoda Rapid will be announced later this year, probably at the Paris Motor Show in September.
