Good news for the Czech based automaker Skoda, after its Superb model managed to do 1.200 kilometers on a single tank of fuel, in China.
A Chinese stuntman managed to drive a Skoda Superb, equipped with the 1.4 liter TSI engine, for 1.200 kilometers on a single tank, between Shanghai and Beijing. This is actually the first time when a model developed for a superior segment can “connect” the two cities with only one tank of fuel. Skoda said that the model used for this successful attempt hadn’t been modified in any way and the journey was made on the freeway, in normal traffic conditions.
“I have rarely drove a car on a such big distance and got so much comfort and an average fuel consumption like this one”, said Li Zhi, a popular stuntman in China, who drove the Superb.
According to the Czech based automaker, the Skoda Superb with its 1.4 liter TSI engine is developing a total output of 125 horsepower. The engine is being bated to a DSG automatic transmission. At the end of the 1.200 km journey, the average fuel consumption shown by the on-board computer was 4.5 liters / 100 km and in the 60 liter tank there was still enough fuel to allow the Superb to drive for another 100 kilometers.
