The Czech automaker took the wraps off the Superb SportLine back last year during the Frankfurt Motor Show, but only now the new series has been made available in Great Britain.
The model comes out a bit more dynamic, though since we’re dealing with large sedans and wagons you can’t ask too much from them. Anyways, the SportLine is available across almost the entire engine range – the worst options have fortunately been excluded – and even comes with its own bespoke color, called Dragon Green. Skoda is of course not thinking about a Superb RS, so this is the most you can get out of the very practical sedan and wagon. Among the updates to the styling department we can mention the 19-inch Anthracite Vega alloy wheels, sports bumpers, tinted glass, and black gloss trim – that one is available on the grille, wing mirrors, window surrounds and rear spoiler when opting for the notchback sedan. The estate instead gets black roof bars.
More importantly, the list of changes also includes a 15 mm lowered suspension as well as an XDS electronic differential lock. Available paints include Moon White Metallic, Quartz Grey Metallic, Business Grey Metallic, Brilliant Silver Metallic, Black Magic pearl effect and Corrida Red, along with the aforementioned exclusive Dragon Green Metallic. Engine options include the 2.0 TSI that can be found under the hood of the Golf GTI – and here it delivers 200 hp or even 280 hp complete with all wheel drive. On the diesel side, the best that can be had is the Octavia RS engine packing 190 hp, all wheel drive and the DSG dual clutch gearbox. Pricing starts at £26,490 for the hatchback and £27,690 for the estate and will go up to £33,295 and £34,495, respectively.
