The Czech brand is moving along with its strategy for the upcoming years, which is set to include not only a coupefied SUV, but also an electric model that will then spawn an entire family of green vehicles.
Skoda is now teasing the arrival of the Vision E Concept, set to appear for the first time in front of the worldwide audience of the Shanghai Motor Show starting midway through April, and with it we can see the green agenda is moving along. What we see here is a five-door coupe-SUV with an alluring exterior design – though we’re pretty sure the drawings are bending the reality and the end result will be a tad less exciting. We can notice the very short front and rear overhangs, the traditional concept huge wheels and the absence of a conventional B-pillar.
As with any other Skoda, there’s a roomy interior thanks to the 2,850 mm (112 inches) long wheelbase, so the eventual production version of the Vision E will definitely become a Kodiaq Coupe variant. The company has actually disclosed the powertrain details – all-electric powertrain with total power worth 300 horsepower (225 kilowatts), and the coupe-SUV will achieve a maximum speed of 112 mph (180 kph). They also explained we’re dealing with an all-wheel-drive layout and the lithium-ion battery pack will be good for 310 miles (500 kilometers) of range.
