The Czech automaker is going more and more upscale – they are even talking about how their design language was linked to the Czech crystal glass art.
And hiding in the rather uninteresting press release is an Easter Egg – a teaser image of the upcoming Vision E as revealed by the photo’s filename and the keyword attached to the press release. The company actually has no mention of the “Vision E” in the release or the embedded video, but it does reference its three predecessors. The 2011 Vision D came out to preview the Rapid and Octavia, the Vision C appeared in 2014 and laid the groundwork for the new Superb flagship, while the Vision S came in 2016 just months ahead of the official reveal of the Kodiaq seven-seat SUV.
The new Vision E meanwhile might be tied to the leaked “Kodiaq Coupe,” which we know for sure will arrive at least in China in 2019, as hinted by a Skoda presentation slide. Hence we could extrapolate and think the preview of the Coupe-SUV would be a logical apparition in April at the Shanghai Auto Show. The teaser depicts the most important part of a coupe-SUV, the side profile revealing a more sloped roofline and what appears to be a very short overhang.
