Skoda to produce VW Taigun based crossover image

The Volkswagen Taigun concept might enter production in two years under the Skoda name, but the recipe for the Up!, Citigo and Mii might be applied once more.

After it was officially presented to the public just a few days ago during the 2012 Sao Paulo Motor Show, the Volkswagen Taigun Concept is entering our news once again, this time with a rumor which is saying that Skoda might produce a vehicle based on it. The model might be adopted by Seat and even by Volkswagen, just like it happened recently with the VW Up, with the Skoda Citigo and with the Seat Mii.

“If I make a concept, it is my target to bring it to production. I have a close to 100 per cent record at this. It’s a viable concept the Taigun, not just a dream”, said R&D chief, Ulrich Hackenberg.

The final production version of the Volkswagen Taigun Concept will be a direct rival for models like the Nissan Juke, the Opel Mokka, the Peugeot 2008, the Chevrolet Trax, the MINI Countryman, the Ford EcoSport, the Renault Clio based crossover and more. The production version of the Taigun is expected to make its way onto the market in 2014.
