The Czech based automaker Skoda has just introduced a two-wheel drive version of the Yeti utility vehicle in India which will be available in two variants, the Yeti Active and the Yeti Ambition.
The two-wheel drive version of the Skoda Yeti was a much anticipated model and an expected one after the manufacturer launched the all-wheel drive variant in November last year. Skoda says that its 2WD crossover takes its power from a 2.0 liter turbo diesel engine which is developing a total output of 110 horsepower at 4.200 rpm and has a peak torque of 250 Nm available between 1.500 and 2.500 rpm, mated to a standard five-speed manual transmission which will help keep the model’s cost down.
According to the Czech based automaker, the two-wheel drive Skoda Yeti comes with Electronic Stability Control (ESP), Hill Hold Control and Vario Flex as standard equipment to give it so off-road capabilities as well. The fuel efficiency figure stands at 17.72 kmpl which is making it be the most fuel efficient SUV in the country. Other important features to come on the new variant are the ABS, airbags, traction control and electronic differential locks.
The Yeti Active is cheaper than the Yeti elegance by as much as RS.2 lakhs while the Ambition has been priced at about RS.1 lakh below the elegance. Skoda says that the 4×2 Yeti comes at RS.13.35 lakhs and is significantly cheaper than the four-wheel drive version which costs Rs.15.4 lakhs.
