Willing or not, the big Skoda secret is out the window, and after yesterday the company itself presented official photos with the interior – now we also have leaked stills with the exterior.
Just a few hours prior to the big Skoda event taking place in Berlin, the Internet has once again trumped the corporate secret and now we know how the large full size Kodiaq SUV looks like. The seven-seater SUV is humongous, as we already learned from those official company stills with the interior and now we can see the rumor mill was entirely correct assuming the exterior design will be modeled after the VisionS concept showed back in March during the Geneva Motor Show.
The 4.7-meter-long Kodiaq also brings updated elements from the Superb and will most likely be very imposing on the road due to its sheer size. Just like any Skoda model today, it’s focused on practicality above all else, taking up to 2,165 liters (76.4 cubic feet) of luggage if the five-seater version is selected and the rear seats folded. The seven-seater option is available as an extra, and so is the new wireless charging functionality.
As a regular member of the VW Group, the Kodiaq is constructed on the MQB architecture and will be offered with a wide range of four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, all of them being of the turbo variety. Going for a petrol engine you can go down to the meager 1.4 TSI and the group also offers those well known 2.0 TSI and TDI options, complete with DSG gearboxes and all-wheel drive.
