Everyone knows that as people get crazy fast – or plain crazy cars – the Police is trying to keep up. We’ve seen what the Police force in Dubai packs on plenty occasions, and this is happening all around the world.
In America for example it’s also a regular thing for police cars to come in the form of exclusive or bespoke versions – and this is a prime contender: the Riverside Police Department in California has just received a new Saleen Mustang complete with supercharged 5.0-liter V8 mod that brings 730 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. This was at the base a 2016 Mustang GT that paid a visit to long-time Mustang tuner Steve Saleen, with Saleen Automotive actually donating the aftermarket process that turned the 435-horsepower Mustang GT into the supercharged Saleen S302 beast.
Then the model received police lights and sirens, donated by Federal Signal, with the install donated by West Coast Lights and Sirens. The monster is not actually going to see active patrol duty – it’s a project for the Riverside Police Officer’s Association and will act as a memorial vehicle, going to shows, parades, and special events. “The memorial car is intended to raise awareness of the risks faced everyday by the men and women who wear the police uniform, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice,” said the Riverside Police Department.
