Smart also going to Geneva with new special series models image

Just in time for the Geneva Motor Show, Smart has revealed it has prepared a couple of new installments for its range – the ForTwo Cabrio Brabus Edition #2 and the ForFour Crosstown Edition.

Smart has decided to rekindle the interest of prospective buyers by revealing a pair of special editions, one based on the ForTwo Cabriolet and the other on the more practical ForFour. The smallest but probably most alluring is the droptop Brabus Edition #2 – which is going to be quite exclusive since only 1000 examples will be produced. The will feature a mix of “cool sliver” paint with a set of 16-inch wheels finished in matt anthracite and taken straight from Brabus’ parts catalogue. To make it stand out among the rest of ForTwo Cabrios, Smart decided the special series would use a red fabric roof and the “BRABUS edition #2” lettering on the mirror triangle. The theme is also found inside where the heated leather seats come in “ruby red” – which can also be found on the door panels, dashboard, and the leather-covered steering wheel. Power comes from the turbocharged three-cylinder, 0.9-liter engine with 90 hp and this Renault Twingo-shared powerplant is hooked to a six-speed, dual-clutch gearbox.

Next up is the ForFour Crosstown Edition, available in a number of colors and visually enhanced with rugged-looking detachable parts at the front and rear bumpers as well as on the side skirts. It also gets new 16-inch alloys and has a sports suspension lowering the ride height by 0.4 inches (10 millimeters) – while tinted rear windows and a chrome-plated exhaust tip finish the exterior changes. The interior is mostly dark and gets about the same features as the ForTwo Cabrio. We have no info on production numbers for this one, nor price – although we do know the ForTwo Cabrio Brabus Edition #2 will start from a hefty €26,750.
