The smallish German brand is celebrating a major milestone across the ocean in the United States – ten years of doing business on the market – and they naturally have a 10th Anniversary Edition special model to showcase.
The new limited edition is being based on the Fortwo Coupe Electric Drive and arrives in an exclusive exterior paint – Sapphire Blue Metallic, along with 10th Anniversary badges around the body. Rounding up the exterior changes is the set of 16-inch Brabus Monoblock VII wheels with a Matte Anthracite Grey finish. Moving inside, the 10th Anniversary Edition might not show off just as much as on the outside – the only novel addition is the introduction of Brabus-made elements, such as the shift knob and floor mats. The Sport Package does come standard on the new 10th Anniversary Edition model, and includes goodies such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel and brushed stainless steel pedals.
The 10th Anniversary Edition will arrive for the first time in front of the worldwide audience of the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and will soon go on sale across US dealerships, adding a $1,950 premium to the vehicle’s usual asking price. The Fortwo Coupe Electric Drive comes with a 17.6 kilowatt-hour battery and an EPA-estimated range of 58 miles (93 kilometers), with the 80-horsepower (60-kilowatt) electric motor enough to jump to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 11.4 seconds and on to a maximum speed of 81 mph (130 kph).
