Smart has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, a concept car named the ForJeremy, ahead of the model’s debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.
According to the Mercedes-Benz sub-brand, the Smart ForJeremy Concept has came to life as a collaboration between Smart and the internationally renowned fashion designer Jeremy Scott. The model in question has been based on the Smart ForTwo electric drive and the carmaker says that it will enter a limited production sometimes next year.
“We were totally enthusiastic about the first sketches that Jeremy presented to us. Both smart and the wings represent a bit of freedom on the crowded streets of major cities. In their respective disciplines, both the fashion designer Jeremy Scott and the smart brand are pioneering trendsetters, venturing into uncharted territories and challenging the status quo”, said the head of Smart at the premiere, Annette Winkler.
The Smart ForJeremy Concept is pitching to the younger generation and, just like we said above, is based on the ForTwo Electric Drive, which means that it comes with a 55 kW electric motor, which is allowing the model to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 11.5 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 78 mph. The Smart ForJeremy Concept will enter production as a limited edition in 2013.
