The Smart Forspeed concept will be revealed early next month in Geneva. The electric Smart will be powered by a rear-mounted 41-hp electric motor that allows it to run from 0 to 37 mph in 5.5 seconds with a top speed of 75 mph.
And … if you need more power, you can push a magic button and you will get 7 extra horses.
A lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 16.5 kWh is responsible for power supply. It would get you about 135 km
Talking about the exterior, Forspeed has a honeycomb mesh grille, LED headlights solar cells in the base of the windscreen and a hidden plug-in socket under the smart badge on the rear to amp up the lithium-ion battery.
As about the interior, the car’s minimalist design mirrors the look of a motorboat, with individual binnacles for the driver and co-pilot. In front of the latter sits a Smartphone unit, which can be tilted 90 degrees to face the driver.
According to Mercedes head of design, Steffen Kohl: “Look at the fullness of the car’s exterior surfaces. This is important and will be reflected in future production models.”
