The Daimler unit has recently announced the pricing details concerning the Smart fortwo cabrio, which kick off at 14,305 euros and the brand reveals the introduction of the manual transmission option.
Aside from the regular versions with the twinamic dual clutch transmission, the open-top two-seater can also be had across Europe starting mid July with a five-speed manual transmission. The fresh-air fun starts at a rather pricey 14,305 euros – which is the recommended retail price in Germany, including 19 percent VAT. For that money you can have the basic 71 hp and 91 Nm model equipped with the new manual transmission. For the money you’ll get a car that averages 4.3 liters per 100 km and goes from not to 100 km/h in 14.9 seconds, maxing out at 151 km/h.
The feistier three-cylinder with 90 hp and 135 Nm can be had from 15,200 euros. This one will move considerably faster – the 100 km/h sprint takes place in 10.8 seconds and the top speed stands at 155 km/h.
The two versions come with a wide range of equipments. We can highlight the electrically operated “tritop” soft top, LED daytime driving lights, central locking with radio remote control, visual locking-verification signal and immobilizer. Clients will also get cruise control with limiter (variable speed limitation), exterior temperature indicator with frost warning, instrument cluster with monochrome LCD display and trip computer, as well as electric windows. Now we just have to wait for the orders to kick off for the Brabus version.
