The brand new Smart ForTwo Electric Drive can now be yours from as low as 139 USD per month, which is actually the same price as the non-electric version of the model.
After it was officially presented to the public back in April, during the 2013 New York Auto Show, in a premiere, the brand new Smart ForTwo Electric Drive is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with its lease program announced. The model can be ordered from 139 USD per month and, until September 3, the ForTwo ED’s lease includes a down payment of 1,999 USD, and the signing up for the Battery Assurance Plus battery lease program, which costs 80 USD monthly.
The total monthly payment for the Smart ForTwo Electric Drive stands at 139 USD, which is lower than the previous 199 USD. The mileage cap is set at 30,000 miles. The company is giving dealers a 2,000 USD incentive on the vehicle which can be used any way the dealer wishes, by lowering the price, by advertising the car locally and so on. Power to the Smart ForTwo Electric Drive is provided by a 55 kW magneto electric motor, mated to a 17.6 lithium-ion battery. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 11.5 seconds and top speed stands at 125 km/h.
