The aftermarket specialists at Carlsson have recently pulled the wraps off the Smart Race Edition, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, in a premiere.
The model in question is a Smart ForTwo Coupe with a complete body kit and LED daytime running lights, a sports exhaust system, a new suspension system which is lowering the ride height by 15 mm in the front and 30 mm in the rear, a set of 17-inch Revo alloy wheels, custom decals, new updates in the cabin and more goodies, which should make the model more attractive.
Tuning isn’t complete without a power boost, no matter how small it is and even if it may seem quite small in the Smart Race Edition by Carlsson, this is quite significant. According to the tuning company, the upgrade kit fitted onto the Smart ForTwo Coupe is increasing the total output of the model to 112 HP (82 kW) and 158 Nm of torque (116 lb-ft), compared to the standard 84 HP (62 kW) and 120 Nm of torque (88 lb-ft). The top speed has also increased from 145 km/h (90 mph) to 155 km/h (96 mph). The model is aimed towards the Swiss market. No pricing details have been released yet.
