Infiniti, the luxury automotive brand from Japan intends to include Australia in its expansion.
According to the automaker, starting from the third quarter of 2012, Australian luxury car buyers will be able to purchase and service Infiniti automobiles at designated Infiniti Centres in each of the three major east coast capitals Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Three models will accompany the brand’s local launch: the FX sport crossover, the G37 coupe and convertible, and the new M luxury sedan. Infiniti has been a big success in the United States in recent years and is Toyota’s Lexus. The luxury marque will compete with Lexus and of course, the European brands – Mercedes, Audi, BMW as well.
The Australians will be able to choose from the same 3.7-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8 options we have here in the States, and they’ll also be able to pick a 3.0-liter diesel that we aren’t afforded.
Moreover, in Australia, Infiniti will be strengthened by a financial division: Infiniti Financial Services. The finance team possesses broad experience in automotive financing and will operate from its head office in Victoria. Exclusively focused on the premium segment, Infiniti Financial Services will offer innovative products and services to companies and individuals, both in traditional credit and in leasing.
