New vehicle sales in Spain continued to fall in November, the Spanish Association of Car Manufacturers (ANFAC) said.
A total of 60,395 new cars were sold in the country in November, down by 6.4 per cent compared with the same period last year. In the period between January and November, car registrations were down 19% to 741,600 units, ANFAC added.
Car sales to individuals and companies that aren’t rental agencies fell 9%, while car sales to rental agencies rose 7.5%.
Both ANFAC and GANVAM were worried about the figures. They did not expect this year’s total sale volume to pass 810,000, which would be the lowest annual level since 1993.
The Germans from Volkswagen sold 5.385 vehicles, while Renault and Seat sold 5.149 and 5.149 vehicles respectively. However, on a year-to-date basis, Seat is the largest automaker by car sales in Spain, with 67.255 vehicles.
