The new generation of the BMW X5 M has been recently spied while it was being tested on public roads, with some light camouflage on its body.
BMW has already unveiled the new generation of the X5 just a couple of weeks ago, but that doesn’t mean that the German based automaker has finished its work on the popular SUV, because the high performance version of the model is currently being tested. Such a prototype has been caught by our spy photographers while it was being tested on a public road. We assume that this will hit the market sometimes next year, considering the fact that the regular version will be launched by the end of 2013.
Rumors are saying that the 2015 BMW X5M will be powered by the company’s 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 engine, but it remains uncertain whether the unit will be tweaked. In the current configuration, the engine is producing a total output of 555 HP (408 kW) and it has a peak torque of 680 Nm (502 lb-ft). Even if the unit will not be bumped, the model will still be faster than its predecessor, considering the fact that the 2015 X5 M will be lighter. Fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions will be improved too.
