The German based automaker BMW has been spotted by our spy photographers while testing the new 1-Series GT and the Compact Activity Tourer (CAT).
BMW is getting ready to launch more and more models and after we’ve presented you with the most recent spy photos of the X4 crossover, time has come to talk about yet two more future additions to the company’s lineup. The models in question may seem, at first sight, to be actually the soon to be released BMW 1-Series GT, but at a closer look, you can clearly see the different shape of the roof, the layout of the C-pillar and some other tweaks and then you realize that there are actually two vehicles.
Besides the 1-Series GT, which is no longer a surprise for anyone, as it will debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, BMW is also testing the Compact Activity Tourer, or the CAT as it is internally known. The model in question will be introduced in late 2014 or early 2015 and it will be part of the company’s compact class, which is code-named UKL. This includes all MINI models and the standard 1-Series and it will grow with the FAST too, or the Family Activity Sports Tourer, which will slot below the X1, with the MINI MAT (Multi Activity Transporter) and with the JOY, a two-door vehicle below the 1-Series.
