The German based automaker BMW has been recently spotted while testing the brand new X4, which should make its public debut sometimes next year.
BMW is probably one of the most busy carmakers this year, and not only, when it comes to the development of new models, and besides the new, the 4-Series Coupe, the facelifted 7-Series, the new X5 and many more vehicle which were unveiled in the past year, the company is also working on the development of the X4. The model in question will be a smaller version of the X6, with a sloping roofline, just like the X3 is a smaller version of the X5.
And speaking of the X3, you should known that the new crossover will use the same platform as the model already available for order. As for the engine lineup, the new BMW X4 is expected to come with the 28i and 35i flavors, equipped with 2-liter and 3-liter turbocharged engine. Later on, the 20d will probably make its way into the range too, along with possibly more engines. The brand new BMW X4 is expected to be officially presented to the public, in a premiere, during the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, in January.
