Some revealing spy shots with the upcoming Renault Sandero RS have hit the web recently and they are offering us a first glimpse into the future vehicle.
Just a day after Renault has released the first official teaser video with the Sandero RS, the Brazilian media has managed to obtain some revealing spy shots of the new model. The hot hatch seems to have a slightly more aggressive body compared to the version which is already available for order, adding the beefier front and rear bumpers, the roof mounted spoiler, the extended side skirts and several other tweaks.
The model has received some black alloy wheels too, which have been wrapped around in continental tires, along with the glossy side mirror caps. Rumor has it that a sportier suspension has been adopted by the Sandero RS and we can also see the rear disc brakes and the blackened headlights and taillights. The cabin may not be finished yet but it is revealing the 6-speed manual transmission, the leather wrapped steering wheel, red contrast stitching and missing infotainment system and center vents, meaning that Renault may be preparing something different.
According to the most recent reports, the brand new Renault Sandero RS is said to be taking its power from the 2.0 liter naturally aspirated engine used on the BR-spec Duster. The total output of the unit is expected to stand at around 143 HP (107 kW), meaning that turbocharging is out of the question. The Sandero RS will be built exclusively for Latin America and it is not known at this time whether Dacia will adopt a version of its own.
