New shots coming from a leaked spy session is now depicting the upcoming new generation Volkswagen Polo without too much camouflage, providing us with the best look so far at the model.
Surprise, surprise, this is not another facelift, but an all-new generation. Volkswagen, your designers are either seriously underpaid and thus work less or seriously overpaid for the things they do… The Polo is utterly evolutionary – the headlights have a slightly different shape and we seem to have angular daylight running lights inside of them inspired by the recently updated Golf. The modified grille puts the company logo in between thin chrome strips. Moving back, the taillights are decidedly larger and eat up into the liftgate but the bumper seems pretty much taken directly from the current version.
The leaked pictures don’t depict the interior as well, but according to reports the best upgrades have been reserved for the interior – including way better materials. Among the options, VW is even lending the Polo with the fully digital instrument cluster and an advanced infotainment system. The Polo is also making use of the latest advancement of the MQB platform – it’s the one seen on the new Ibiza, and should carry some weight reduction over the predecessor.
