Nissan is currently considering the development of a sportier version of the new Qashqai generation in order for the model to be rivaling with the Range Rover Evoque.
Along with the unveil of the new generation of the Nissan Qashqai, the Japanese based automaker has received enough confidence to aspire to a more premium market, and it seems that its first competitor, which will have nothing in common with the Infiniti brand, will be a sportier version of its new crossover, which will be rivaling with the Range Rover Evoque. The model in question will be a coupe-styled Qashqai and it’s believed to become a success in Europe, in the segment dominated by the British brand.
According to the guys at Automotive News Europe, a sportier version of the Nissan Qashqai is currently being taken into consideration but if this seems appealing to you, then you will be disappointed, because you’re in for a long wait, which could take several years. A hybrid version of the new Qashqai generation will not be created, however, because the carmaker believes that conventional engines have good fuel consumption. A hotter variant of the new Qashqai, wearing the Nismo badges on its body, is believed to be making its way onto the market.
