The newest rear mid-engined and rear-wheel drive coupe born in Maranello is called the 488 GTB. The supercar was officially unveiled earlier this year and it’s coming as the successor of the 458 Italia. The images posted below are showing us a black-finished example of the exotic ride, on the public streets of Dusseldorf, Germany, alongside a black Ferrari 458 Italia.
The Ferrari 488 GTB has been in production since 2015. It was designed by Centro Stile Ferrari and it stands at 4,568 mm long, 1,952 mm wide and 1,213 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm and a curb weight of 1,475 kg. The supercar is dropping the old 4.5 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine from under its hood in favor of a new 3.9 liter V8 twin turbo. The unit is rated at 661 HP (493 kW) at 8,000 rpm and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) of torque, available at 3,000 rpm. Power is being sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which has by made by GETRAG and based on the gearbox used in the 458. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the 488 GTB needs just 3.0 seconds and it can go up to a top speed of more than 330 km/h (205 mph). The 488 Spider has been introduced at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and it’s replacing the 458 Spider.
