Spotted – McLaren 570GT prototype caught at private track event image

YouTube user Gumbal has managed to snatch some one on one time with a McLaren 570 GT prototype which has been caught on camera during a private track day event.

First seen in front of the public during the world premiere presentation at last month’s Geneva Motor Show, the 570GT follows in the heels of the 570S Coupe. But the model has been modified with a new glass hatch that will open sideways in a rather quirky manner. That’s in a bid to ease access to a leather-lined “Touring Deck” with 7.7 cubic feet of storage. This is the upscale version of the 570 series and this luxo-supercar also comes nicely fitted with a panoramic glass roof, a bigger rear spoiler, and custom Pirelli P Zero tires that have been modified to provide a more comfortable ride.

The interior is mostly the same as in any 570 model but comes with different touches: a digital instrument cluster, premium leather upholstery, and eight-way power adjustable sport seats. There are also upscale amenities such as a power steering column, a dual-zone climate control system, and an eight-speaker audio system that is mated to an infotainment system with a seven-inch display. Under the body sits the 3.8-liter biturbo V8 engine that churns out the advertised 570 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. It has been mated to a seven-speed seamless-shift transmission and performance will be great: 62 miles per hour (100 km/h) will be attained in 3.4 seconds while the maximum speed stands at 204 mph.
