SsangYong upgraded the Korando image

The SsangYong Korando has received a few upgrades for the 2016 model year.

According to the car manufacturer, the 2016 SsangYong Korando is now bringing a few extra features which should be making it even more popular. The vehicle in question has received the fresh 16- to 18-inch alloy wheel designs, the new piano black radiator grille with more chrome detailing on the ELX, the RDS sound system with MP3, Bluetooth, iPod and iPhone support on the SE and a 7-inch touch screen with a rearview camera on the ELX, along with a TomTom navigation system. SsangYong says that all versions of the Korando are bringing the HDMI, USB and AUX ports.

Besides the goodies mentioned above, the compact crossover is also bringing a new 2.2 liter four-cylinder diesel engine, which is Euro 6 compliant. The unit is capable of putting down a total of 178 HP (131 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, available between 1,400 rpm and 2,800 rpm. The new engine is coming as a replacement for the older 2.0 liter Euro 5 unit and it is 19.4 percent more powerful and bringing an 11 percent higher torque figure. The CO2 emissions have been reduced as well, from 147 g/km to 139 g/km for the 2WD manual version, which is also more fuel efficient now, eating 5.3l / 100km of fuel (53.3 mpg UK / 44.3 mpg US). The unit is offered with a standard 6-speed manual transmission but the 6-speed automatic will be offered for an extra cost, on the 4×4 variant. Prices for the vehicle in the 2.2 SE 2WD start from 15,995 GBP.
