Are you ready for the force awakening this December? This might be an ubiquitous question since the entire world is roaring to the lightsaber tune as George Lucas’ saga is getting ready for a new installment.
We’re seeing the Disney marketing machine at work now – Star Wars is everywhere, from groceries to the al new Empire-prone Fiat 500e stormtrooper presented during the Los Angeles Auto Show by Lapo Elkann’s Garage Italia Customs. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles chief executive officer Sergio Marchionne has urged us all not to buy the money-losing Fiat 500e (as in battery-driven electric) and until now we were glad to heed his advice. But Fiat Chrysler Automobiles itself has asked Lapo Elkann’s Garage Italia Customs to deliver this one-off, which pays tribute to the First Order stormtroopers in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We’re treated to the iconic black and white shade in this mesmerizing reinterpretation and we also see tinted windows, or the wrapped windscreen paying homage to the stormtrooper’s iconic helmet and visor. Some First Order badging was also in order and we also have some Star Wars: A New Hope era limited edition Pirelli white wall tires wrapping the black alloy wheels.
The interior also comes with white leather seats equipped with black leather inserts and black Alcantara piping, a two-shade steering wheel, a white Alcantara headliner and embroidered First Order headrests. We also have the regular white dashboard and a massive Star Wars logo to go with the black trim. The powertrain uses a 24-kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor delivering 111 bhp (82 kW) and 147 lb-ft (199 Nm) of torque, with EPA range at 122 MPGe city / 108 MPGe highway.
