The aftermarket specialist has recently taken the wraps off its latest tuning program, which has been focused on the Land Rover Discovery Sport.
Startech appears to have caught the seriousness bug as the crossover features a restrained styling line – the crossover can be had with a front spoiler that also sports integrated LED daytime running lights. Also available is a slightly tweaked rear bumper that now fully encapsulates the model’s dual exhaust system. The exterior changes are nicely rounded off via the 22-inch Monostar R wheels that can go hand in hand with the sports springs that will drop the ride height by around 1.1 inches. The serious appearance is maintained as we go inside the cabin, where Startech offers an extensive customization service that allows customers to jump from the bland appearance of the regular setup to a fully unique atmosphere that uses any amenity – from leather to Alcantara upholstery, passing through new alloy pedals, illuminated door sill plates, and carbon fiber or wood trim.
The powertrain can also be updated. The models running the 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine can be granted the PowerXtra SD22 performance kit, which lifts total output to 207 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque – a surge of 19 hp and 29 lb-ft. The extra oomph is allowing the crossover to negotiate the zero to 62 mph sprint in 8.9 seconds. The tuner has also hinted it has started work on the performance pack for the 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine but there are as of yet no details regarding availability or performance specifications.
