The sport utility vehicle is one of the main reasons why the Japanese brand is so popular in the United States – where it posts huge sales numbers and has achieved a cult status.
But the spacious compact SUV is not only one of the more capable off-road representatives out there, it’s also among the vehicles that use a four-cylinder boxer engine. And the Japanese automaker has recently celebrated the 50 years anniversary – the half century threshold is also celebrated in the UK via a special series Forester. It wears a completely mind boggling name – Forester Special Edition – but will have a big exclusivity rate because just 100 units will be sold from September. Pricing kicks off at £29, 995 for the petrol Lineartronic version, with the Diesel variant costing at least £31,495.
The Forester Special Edition in UK has the XC Premium trim as the base, and tops that out with £1,500 of additional equipment free of charge. The owners can get it with a bespoke Hunter Green Metallic hue, brown leather seats with brown leather interior door grips and other amenities. Among them we could mention the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Subaru Starlink, satellite navigation, Hill Descent Control and the Subaru X-Mode. The 2.0-liter turbo diesel packs 147 PS (145 bhp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, with the 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline version boasting 240 PS.
