Good news for those of you living in Malaysia who were looking into the Subaru BRZ because the sports car has been recently launched in the country. The Japanese based automaker says that its official starting price has been set at RM239,800 and the model is already available for booking. Features found on the model include the dual zone automatic air conditioning, push button start, paddle shifters, ABS with EBD, brake assist, front, side, curtain and driver’s knee airbags, automatic headlights, cruise control, limited slip differential and 17-inch aluminum wheels, amongst others.
The Subaru BRZ is powered by a 2.0 liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder boxer engine, the same unit found on the Toyota GT 86 and on the Scion FR-S, fitted with Toyota’s D-4S direct injection system. The total output developed by the unit is 200 horsepower, available at 7,000 rpm, and 151 lb-ft of torque at 6,600 rpm. The engine can be mated to a six-speed manual transmission in standard or to a six-speed automatic, which is available as an option. The Subaru BRZ is already available in most markets across the world, along with the Toyota GT 86 and its over-seas sister, the Scion FR-S.
