The Japanese based automaker Subaru will present its BRZ sports car at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show.
After the Subaru BRZ has been officially presented at several automotive events on different continents, the Japanese car manufacturer couldn’t resist one of the most important shows in North American, the 2012 NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) in Detroit. Subaru has officially announced that the BRZ coupe will be presented in Detroit too, next week, but the model will not go against its sister car, the Scion FR-S, which is expected to be sold a as a more premium vehicle. This means two things, superior features and a higher price.
The Subaru BRZ which will hit the 2012 Detroit Motor Show will be powered by the same 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine which is identically tuned as the one found on the Toyota GT 86 / Scion FR-S, developing a total output of 197 horsepower at 7.000 rpm and having a peak torque of 151 lb-ft available at 6.600 rpm. Power is being sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission with a short stroke shift level, but an optional six-speed automatic transmission, with paddle shifters, will also be available for the model. Prices for the 2013 Subaru BRZ will start at 24.000 USD for the entry-level, while the BRZ Limited will cost 27.000 USD.
