Subaru BRZ production version teased for Tokyo Motor Show image

After releasing some official details and images of the BRZ Concept heading to this month’s Los Angeles Auto Show, the Japanese based automaker Subaru has decided to bring the production version of the BRZ into the spotlights by teasing us with a snap and a few more details on the model.

According to the Japanese based automaker, the production version of the BRZ will be powered by a 2.0 liter, four-cylinder, direct injection, boxer engine, which will send power to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission.

Even if Subaru didn’t provide an exact number of the horsepower and torque provided by the 2.0 liter boxer engine, the same unit powering the Toyota FT-86 (Scion FR-S) is rumored to generate over 200 HP, and considering the fact that the BRZ is sharing a part of its mechanicals and bodywork, the model could stand in the same zone.

In the image released by Subaru we can only see the front corner of the vehicle but even so it doesn’t seem like the Japanese automaker will change much in its transition from the concept to the production form.
