Subaru has recently announced its plans to introduce a new special edition of the BRZ, called the BRZ Series Blue.
The model in question will be based on the 2015 model year version and it will still offer that front engine and rear-wheel drive layout but it will stand out from the crowd, visually, thanks to the added STI aerodynamic upgrades. These include a front chin spoiler, new rocker panels, red brake calipers, 17-inch alloy wheels finished in black covering them and some other tweaks. The vehicle is also getting the new underbody panels to reduce the drag coefficient from 0.28 to 0.27 and it still has the same chrome exhaust tips.
The interior design of the new Subaru BRZ Series Blue Special Edition is getting Alcantara trim, blue leather seat bolsters and headrests, blue stitching on various parts, simulated carbon fiber dashboard panel, a frameless rearview mirror, illuminated red engine start stop button and others. The vehicle is still powered by the same 2.0 liter four-cylinder boxer engine, which is rated at 200 HP and 151 lb-ft of torque. Only 1,000 units of the model will be produced and 500 of them will be finished in WR Blue Pearl and 500 in Crystal White Pearl. All of them will be sold in the United States and they will be priced from 30,285 USD. The vehicle will be launched in July.
