Subaru Impreza WRX STI to be discontinued in the UK

The Japanese based automaker Subaru has recently announced its plans to drop the Impreza WRX ST in the United Kingdom because of the slow demand.

After pulling the wraps off the redesigned Impreza earlier this year during the 2012 New York Auto Show, the Japanese based automaker has resisted temptation of offering it in the United Kingdom. According to the car manufacturer, the company has decided to drop the Impreza and the Impreza STI in the UK after a year of deliberations motivating that there isn’t enough demand there for the model and for its high performance version.

“Currently we have no plans to bring in further (Subaru Impreza WRX STI) stock after the current stock sells out – which should take us to early summer, depending on demand”, said an unnamed spokesman.

Even if the car manufacturer will drop one of its most iconic models from the UK, the Impreza, along with the Impreza STI, Subaru will keep on focusing on its newer models, like the BRZ sports car, the new XV or the redesigned Forester. Additional details on the subject are expected to be officially announced soon.
