Subaru pits Crosstrek Special Edition for Chicago Auto Show image

The 2016 Chicago Auto Show is eagerly waiting to deliver the latest and greatest models and Subaru has decided to take part in the action with the 2016 Crosstrek Special Edition.

For the Wind City show the Subaru Crosstrek Special Edition has been based off the Crosstrek 2.0i Premium, with this limited series adopting a Pure Red exterior with body-color mirrors with integrated turn signals. More important modifications have been operated inside the cabin where the 2016 Crosstrek Special Edition features red contrast stitching on the steering wheel and shifter, has been equipped with red interior lighting and has also received some fresher trim with red inlays. Other niceties include a keyless entry system, a push-button ignition, an infotainment system with a 6.2-inch display, a rearview camera and Bluetooth/USB/iPod connectivity. The new limited series also has as a standard feature the All-Weather Packa bringing heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors, and windshield wiper de-icer. Safety is also top tier here, with safety systems such as Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Under the hood it’s the 2.0-liter Boxer engine churning out 148 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, with the powerplant linked to continuously variable transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system. The production run will span 1,500 units and the 2016 Crosstrek Special Edition has been tipped to reach dealer lots in the US this spring.
