Suzuki has reportedly approved the new iM-4 Concept for production and the model should be introduced in 2018.
The Japanese based automaker Suzuki is said to have approved the iM-4 Concept for production. According to a recent report, the model in question is still a few years away and it should be introduced sometimes in 2018. The vehicle will be slightly changed compared to the concept car and, while engine options remain unconfirmed at this time, our source is stating that these will include two petrol burners, the turbocharged 1.0 liter Boosterjet, along with the 1.2 liter Dualjet from the Swift. The car manufacturer will be offering the front-wheel drive for this model as standard but for some extra cash, the optional all-wheel drive will become available too.
Besides the iM-4 Concept, Suzuki is also getting ready to introduce a production version of the iK-2 hatchback. This is believed to be introduced faster, in January 2016, and it will be slightly larger than the Swift. The model will solve problems such as the rear legroom and the boot space and it is also believed to make use of the 1.2 liter Dualjet and, maybe, of the 1.2 liter version of the Boosterjet, which will appear in the iX-4 crossover. The iM-4 Concept has been shown, along with the iK-2, during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and more details on their production versions are expected to be made public soon.
