The Japanese automaker has recently decided to introduce the Vitara S version that features under the hood the brand’s newly engineered 1.4-liter BOOSTERJET engine.
The Vitara is a subcompact crossover that has become fairly successful on the European market, and in a drive to solidify the carmaker’s presence on the continent (which hasn’t been very strong lately, frankly) Suzuki has delivered a new power level via the S version that comes fitted with the new 1.4-liter turbo direct-injection engine churning out 140 PS (103 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft). It comes with the proprietary BOOSTERJET technology and comes with the torque from as low as 1,500 rpm for a fairly good 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint delivered in 10.2 seconds, either with the standard guise manual or optional automatic gearbox. To also enhance its appeal and set it apart from the other versions, the Vitara S also gains glossy black 17-inch alloy wheels and a modified radiator grille sitting between the reworked headlights with red projector covers. Black side body plastics, the satin silver side mirror caps, and the rear upper spoiler complete the transformation.
Inside the vehicle clients will be treated to red upholstery stitching, red accents throughout the cabin and alloy pedals. The 2016 Suzuki Vitara S will also be available with the Bright Red paint job or Cosmic Black, Galactic Grey, and Cool White Pearl, while the ALLGRIP four-wheel drive system is fitted as a standard option. In the UK pricing starts from 20,899 British pounds and from 22,249 if you select the automatic transmission.
