Tata Motor Reports July Sales Up 15% image

Tata Motor reported a July growth of 15% over the same period last year, with 74,159 commercial and passenger vehicles sold.

Domestic sales accounted for 68,627 vehicles, up 18% from the 57,990 units sold in July 2011. For the fiscal 2013 Tata reported sales of 264,702 units, up 2% from the 259,649 units sold in last fiscal. Tata sold 42,387 Commercial Vehicles (CV) in July, up 4% from 40,798 units, 29,601 Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV), up 19% from 24,962 units, but only 12,786 Medium and Heavy CV, down 19% from 15,836 sold in July, 2011.

For the current fiscal year the company sold 157,685 CVs in India, up 2%, 109,956 Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV), up 19% and 47,729 Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV), down 22%. In July the auto maker sold 26,240 passenger vehicles, up 53% from 17,192 units last year, with the Tata Nano up 68% to 5,485 vehicles from 3,260 units and the Indica up 51% to 8,852 vehicles from 5,860 units. The Indigo range sold 6,816 units, up 40%, while the SUV range (Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture) sold 5,087 units, up 59% from 3,195 units.
