Tata Motors Reached Total Sales in July of 73,491 Units image

Tata Motors reached total sales of 73, 491 commercial and passenger vehicles in July, up 15% compared to the same period last year.

Domestic sales of commercial and passenger vehicles in the same period reached 68, 627 units, up 18%, compared to 57,990 sold in July 2011. Tata’s cumulative sales for the fiscal hit 2,62,299 units, up 2% compared to 2,56,800 units in 2011.

Domestic sales of commercial vehicles accounted for 42,387 units, up 4%, compared to 40,798 vehicles sold in July last year. The company sold 29,601 light commercial vehicles (LCV), up 19% compared to 24,962 units in July 2011. Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles sold 12,786 units, down 19%, compared to last year’s 15,836 units. Total domestic sales of commercial vehicles for the fiscal are 1,57,685 units, up 2%, LCV sales accounted for 1,09,956 units, up 19%, and M&HCV sales hit 47,729 units, down 22%.

Tata sold 26,240 passenger vehicles in July, up 53%, compared to last year’s 17,192 units. Tata Nano accounted for 5,485 units, up 68% from 3,260 in July 2011, the Indica sold 8,852 units, up 51% from 5,860 units, the Indigo sold 6,816 units, an increase of 40% from 4,877 units and the Sumo / Safari / Aria / Venture range sales reached 5,087 units, up 59% from 3,195 units in last year’s July.
