Tata Motors Reaches 100,414 Vehicles Sold in March image

Tata Motors saw 20% sales rise in March to 100,414, compared to 83,363 in March 2011, the first time the company’s monthly sales cross the 100,000-mark.

Domestic sales for Tata’s commercial and passenger vehicles reached 95,047 units, up 23% from 77,431 last year. Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are at 906,768 vehicles, a growth of 13% over 803,339 vehicles sold in 2011.

In the domestic market the commercial vehicles reached 58,063 units, up 17% compared to 49,753 last March, the LCV were 36,091, up 37% and the M&HCV sales stood at 21,972 vehicles, lower by 6 percent, over March last year. The passenger vehicles reached 38,399 units, up 30% from 29,520. Tata passenger vehicles accounted for 36,678 highest ever in a month and a growth of 34%, over 27,678 vehicles sold in March 2011, Tata Nano 10,475 up 20% from 8,707 units, Tata Indigo 8,295 up 15% , the Sumo/Safari/Aria/Venture 6,794, up 40%.

The company’s sales from exports at 5,367 vehicles in March 2012, are lower by 10% compared to 5,932 vehicles in March 2011. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 63,078 vehicles, are higher by 9%, over 58,044 vehicles last year.
