Tata Motors on Thursday has reported 15.97% increase in sales (including exports) of commercial and passenger vehicles to 87,465 vehicles.
In the domestic market, the company’s passenger vehicles clocked sales of 34,669 units in January, up by 14.75 per cent from 30,212 units in the same month last year.
The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in January 2012 in the domestic market were 45,713 nos., a 14% growth, compared to 40,263 vehicles, sold in January last year. LCV sales were 27,375 nos., a growth of 15%, compared to 23,776 vehicles sold in January, last year.
Sales of the company’s Nano small car stood at 7,723 units during the month, compared to 6,703 units in the year-ago period, translating into an increase of 15.22 per cent.
What is more, the ‘Indica’ range reported sales of 11,534 units, as against 10,591 units in the year-ago period, up 8.90 per cent, Tata Motors said.
In the late afternoon, Tata Motors was trading at around Rs248.35 per share on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1.95% up from the previous close.
